This was a “before” shot of a client’s buffet that we painted lately.
“Before” we beat it up with chisels, ice picks, hammers and other aggressive sharp tools that I love.
“Before” we painted it in this putrid yellow paint to “brighten up the wood tone underneath”.
And “before” we completed it in this beautiful black satin finish.
Thank goodness for getting past the very ugly middle steps, huh?
Lots of things have “ugly middle steps,” don’t they? I think that’ll preach. ;o)

i left a comment a few months back on your “doing it afraid” post. this is the sort of ugly middle of this project. it’s not the “my mom is going to kill me if i paint this” piece of furniture, but it’s replacement… the wall color in the girls room is enchant by sherwin (we’re on a first name basis) and the dresser is lite lavender, one shade lighter.

my sanding blade broke and the part is on order so i am a week away from that arriving. too lazy to sand by hand ~ plus my children go back to school next week, i will sand then!
