It started out this out-dated hunter green with brass trim. Definitely 1980s in all its glory!

We painted the green fireplace tile. Yes, we PAINTED IT.  (Here’s how.) I demonstrated how in my Paint Finish of the Month club that I give painting techniques to every month.
