My main man recently accommodated me on a spur of the moment project idea. Before I even tell you the ceiling medallion project, I just think we need to take a moment of internet silence for all of the amazing husbands out there who re-hang, re-wire, re-move, re-arrange and re-everything for us decorating wives on a total whim. There is a special place in heaven for you I am certain!
I had been staring at our iron scroll from Pottery Barn that’s hung in our dining room for years. I was tired of it HERE, but not tired enough to get rid of it. So, I asked my husband to hang it in my office on the ceiling for me.
It seemed like such an easy request. Until I remembered the chandelier had to come down.
And I realized that it is heavvvvvvvvvvvvvvy metal so we had to bribe our teenage son to help out. This project is worth some Mindcraft dollars, don’t you think??
I’d also like to mention that you know what my hubby was thinking about then. It’s what every husband thinks when he is hanging heavy metal over his head for his wife…. “my wife is adorable. I love doing projects for her. This is fun. I hope she has another project lined up for me.” lol….. as if!!!! I’m so grateful for him!!! Thank you baby!
The piece already had 2 of these holes in it to hang it on the wall, so we just used those and sheet rock anchors to attach it to the ceiling.
So far, it hasn’t crashed onto my head while I’m working at my desk and killed me, so I would say it’s good.
And I’m loving it again. That’s the great thing about re-using the things you already have…. they can look brand new in a new space in your home!
