Parade of Playhouses????

By February 23, 201016 Comments

Has anyone heard of a “Parade of Playhouses” at Crown Center here in Kansas City? I have never either!!!! Read about it here.

Unfortunately, it has been cancelled for this year.

So imagine my surprise when Miss Ava and I went to Habitat for Humanity this morning to look for cabinet doors for my faux samples.

Look at what we found!!!!

Unfinished PLAYHOUSES for sale!!!! Given to Habitat to sell since the Parade was cancelled.

And………. everyone of them. SOLD.

Dang the luck. In the 3.7 seconds between seeing the playhouses and seeing the “SOLD” signs… I was already seeing visions of this in our backyard:

For my sweet daughter…

For my boys:

Yep, Mom feels the same way Ava!

Bummer dude.

Maybe next time!

OH MY GOSH! Ava NEEDS the white one! That is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! Maybe you could attempt to do one DIY! haha (it may end up looking like the one for the boys) 🙂

  • Christina says:

Too bad, one of those would have made a great project. We need one of the Habitat for Humanity stores around here!

Right, what a bummer. (I quivered with your picture of the lilyputplayhouse. Oh my.)

  • That would have been awesome….

Gosh, makes you wonder if we shouldn’t be making regular trips to ReSource, ‘just in case’ something originally cool pops up!

now THAT would have been a fun project I would’ve loved to read all about and see in the making and basically live the joy of the adventure through you. You’ll find another playhouse I’m sure…sounds like it’s on your mind now. 😀 THat is a HUGE bummer. I had one when I was a kid made out of cardboard and it was amazing. Mom made it for us with a roof and windows with curtains, door with knob and everything. LOVED my cardboard playhouse until one day we left it out in the rain and it was destroyed. 🙁 *sigh* it was plasic barbie tents from then on, none of them quite did the job though. 🙁
