Last year our beloved Kansas City Royals were in the World Series and so I had a great time making some baseball items for my front porch. Our local news station even came out and did a segment on the front porch. I made my own baseball wreath, painted a Be Royal barnwood sign using one of my words stencils custom made from The Mad Stencilist and even spray-painted my dead mums royal blue! (All in this Be Royal post.)
I painted this Happy Fall Ya’ll pallet last fall and had a fun idea for updating it for this fall’s baseball season. The baseball pumpkin was a huge hit and it was easy breezy to do. You know me, if it ain’t easy…. I ain’t doing it! Ha!
You need some stain, a rag, a white pumpkin with FEW humps, a permanent black and red marker and a baseball to look at.
First…. stain the ball. Here’s a quick video I did to show you how to stain a baseball pumpkin.
Then, I drew the 2 “seam lines” in red marker and started making the “lace” marks.
Then I took the black magic marker and drew the “seam holes” and shadowed the red marks.
And I threw it out onto the front steps!
If you want more baseball projects, I’ve got a ton! Check out my Royals Front Porch display — perfect for fall! I also made this home plate as a front door wreath. Also my gorgeous my baseball cuffs – some bling for the baseball mom. I made baseball finials / curtains for my teenage son’s room.
And I would love it if you would sign up for my weekly emails of other fun projects while you are here.
