What’s new at my house…

By July 15, 201030 Comments
(my kitchen 7 years ago)

I had a designer tell me once that there is an old Indian proverb which says “House done; man dies”.

Thank goodness my house is still “evolving”.

(my kitchen tonight)

After 10 years…..we just got new bar stools off of Craigslist. I feel like a grown up!!!!!

And I have almost forgiven Craigslist for all of it’s weirdness.

What’s new at your house?

Does that saying still apply if the woman does all the work ….?

  • My house, too, will ALWAYS be evolving!
    Love the chandeliers!

Love the barstools. I’ve been looking for some similar to those! What did you do to the cabinetry in your kitchen? It looks like maybe a stain over the white paint?

  • Tonia @Chic Modern Vintage says:

I don’t know about new but, I’ve just found 2 lamps, and a side table of some sort. All needs a little work

P.S. and the bar stools are beautiful by the way. You can’t give up on craigslist, I always find good stuff.

I hear paint fairies have transformed our dining room hutch and buffet while I have been on a little vacay in Utah! Can’t wait to see it when I get home… Honestly, I’m going to need a little cheer! To all the ladies that don’t live near Jennifer… Be jealous! 🙂

Love craigslist. They complete the bar area and are just perfect and you didn’t have to pay full price! Love the cabinet change by the way.

Just beautiful! Imagine how bored we’d be if our homes didn’t evolve?

it looks gorgeous! i think my home will eveolve as long as i am living…. i thrive on change! some people resist it and i welcome it with open arms, seek it out. i am sure you are like that, too! 🙂

I don’t know what I’d do if my home was EVER finished! Every home I’ve lived in since I was 19, has been “a work in progress” as long as I lived there. I do hope to soon get to a point where my FOs out-weigh my WIPs though.

What’s new at my house? I just did up my 15 yr. old daughter’s little corner of the world at our house. I surprised her with it. She was SO thrilled when she got here for her visit with us this week. (happy new mama tears)

She is such a joy I loved doing it for her and for very little cash!

  • Pamela says:

Your kitchen is GORGEOUS!! Please come and do my cabinets! I would love to brighten it up in here. Maybe if we stay 10 tears! Ha! Again just beautiful like all of your work. Those chandys are to die for.

Your kitchen is amazing! You are a very talented woman. Keep up the good work…I really enjoy reading your posts!

  • Melissa says:

I love the changes. Beautiful. At our house…What’s NOT new is the easier question to answer! Three years on August 15th we got the house and there is not one room that hasn’t had some dramatic change. And we are still going strong! YAY!

  • Bette says:

    I love those stools.
I can’t say I ever heard that saying. That must explain why we move everytime a house gets to being done.

BTW- I left an award for you back at my blog.
