2013 was a crazy busy year for The Magic Brush team! We did a huge variety of projects which is one of the reasons we love our jobs….it is never the same!!!! I tried to pick out my favorite 10 projects in no particular order. Here they are:
#1) We did an amazing tone on tone chevron stencil pattern on the master bedroom wall of a model home. The walls were flat paint and we added the clear coat in chevron. And check out the silver leaf ceiling we added to the ceiling. The room was spectacular! The blog post is here.
#2) the FuNKiest bathroom vanity ever!!! We had a client select the colors of the decor in her home and she asked us to paint this distressed, imperfect, striped finish on her bathroom vanity. It was stunning in the powder bathroom she put it in. Totally one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE PROJECTS!!! God Bless our daring clients!
#3) This client asked us to makeover her grandmother’s hope chest for her. It was all a lighter wood, so we stained the top and bottom to be a darker wood and painted the middle section. Our client’s last name started with a “K”….so we added that whimsical touch! Super fun, sentimental project!
#4) This was seriously the cutest baby nursery!!!! We stenciled this focal wall in a silver metallic paint over the gray base color.
and then in the same room….
#5) is my barnwood obsession…..
We made this barnwood sign with the baby’s name on it. I am now addicted to barnwood. Stencil from The Mad Stencilist. The nursery is all things Restoration Hardware. Loved that room!
#6) This is my fireplace. And this is my burlap “Noel, Noel” Christmas banner. I wish I could leave it up year round. You wouldn’t judge me, right? (ps…if you go to YouTube and search for Jennifer Allwood you will find videos of me working on the banner.)
#7) We love, love, love staining garage doors to look like real wood. This new construction project had awesome doors and Michelle made them look so shadowed and real and amazing for us. We love how they turned out. And….I have a video for sale on how to stain your doors to look like wood. You can find it by clicking here.
#8) I began this year to make baseball cuff bracelets out of real baseballs! Sold over 100 this summer!!!!! Super fun! Not paint related, but creative nonetheless!
#9) My pumpkin painting obsession was taken to a new level this year as I was hired to paint pumpkins for a “breast cancer awareness front porch decorating contest”! And I took 1st place. **obsessed with pumpkins** obsessed with pink** obsessed with pink pumpkins**
#10) My Christmas decorations on my front porch this year were my absolute favorite!!!! I think I started a “glittered ice skate revolution” that affected every thrift store in the tri-state area. LOL! I can’t even tell you how many sleds we decorated and how many ice skates we glittered this season. It was so much fun! I will be starting collecting sleds and skates NOW for Christmas next year! Look out! JOY stencil from The Mad Stencilist !

I have a small stained garage sale oval table that I would love to make look like the silver cabinet in the baby’s room with the stencil wall. I need you advice as to which instructional video to order. Thanks in advance…
