I am obsessed with leather paint. You may remember this leather recliner that I made over last year! Well I had a stool that I wanted to makeover for you also!
Refreshing leather with a leather paint is a one-step process and goes super quick!!!! It’s a lot of bang for your buck!

I started recently with this worn out leather ottoman.
I taped it in half and used the leather paint on just half first so that you can fully see the transformation!
Notice you still see some of the deep scratches and stains on the dark side, but they are much more camouflaged with the dark stain.
And after it dried I did go ahead and stain the other half so you could see it done. (you won’t have the line down the center because you would do yours all at once!)
I show you exactly how to use leather stain in this video. And, Mr Magic IS wearing pants. Lol. He had to come take over the videoing and this is a little of a mess, but #reallife.

I used Heirloom Tradition’s True Sponge Applicator and ReLuv – Leather Renew in my favorite color, CHESTNUT.
It looks like those deep, rich bomber jackets that we used to wear in high school, doesn’t it?
And literally one coat and done. No top coat. No sealer.
You will want to wear gloves and use rags and sponges that you don’t mind tossing since the product IS oil-based.
And because it soaks INTO the leather (it’s a stain), it will NOT flake or chip off!
And since I am a firm believer that EVERYTHING is paintable…. I used the leather paint on a pair of boots also. The boots were the light color and I stained them the chestnut shade also. Isn’t that transformation cool?
You could also use the ReLuv leather paint on leather stools, briefcases, purses, anything you have that is real leather!
Happy painting!
Jen
