Give Thanks Burlap Banner | Magic Brush

I have a fun little craft for your fireplace for the fall/ Thanksgiving time of year. My “Give Thanks” burlap banner is easy to make and has a bit of glitter on it which adds some bling that you know I love! This is easy to store when it’s not in season and is just fun to look at! Details below!

You will need letter stencils like this one and some adhesive spray like the one pictured or this one.

I used “Distressing Stain” but you could also use paint. I just wanted the words to look very fall-ish and natural on the burlap and so stain was easy to use and these containers make “blotting” the stain on a stencil super easy!

When I made my burlap banner I bought individual burlap triangles because I didn’t even know you could get a pre-made banner .  This will simplify the project a ton for you! But if you are like me and sometimes do things the hard way and buy the burlap triangles, you need to put them on a “line” to hang them. A roll of jute does the job!

I laid the burlap banner triangles upside down and ran the jute across the back about an inch down.

Then folded the burlap banner over and hot glued it down. Hot glue fixes everything.

When that dried I ran a bead of gold glitter glue down the edge of the triangles because I love the combo of the masculine burlap and stain with the feminine glitter!!

And it’s that bead of glitter that gives the burlap banner the sparkly touch I love!

I did add a cute little flower thing that I found at Hobby Lobby to the “blank” triangle that you need between words.

And it’s all done!

This burlap banner would be a fun craft to do with the kids or to make in a Girl’s Night Out!

PS. For those of you asking about the color of our fireplace, we painted it to match our kitchen cabinets which you can read all about on THIS POST. xo

Happy crafting,

Jen
