Converted Dresser Bathroom Vanity Cabinet

 

 

My friend Kenna was recently selling this adorable little dresser. And I snatched it up from her garage sale.

 

I’d been wanting to turn a dresser into a bath vanity for awhile and this was the perfect size!

 

 

 

We have had this pedestal sink in our powder bath forever and a day. So boring.

 

So I couldn’t wait to switch it out!

 

I am relatively certain we did this all backwards, but it turned out so stinkin’ cute!!!!

After it was painted (see told you we did it backwards), Mr Magic took the back off the dresser.

 

 

 

And he drilled a big hole for the sink to go in. I don’t know how he did it, I just know I came out to the garage and voila….. the hole was in it! Ha!

 

I am obsessed with this sink. I have been wanting a bowl for on top of the vanity for years!

Mr. Magic used an adhesive to keep the bowl in place.

 

 

 

And, he did all the “plumbing stuff”. I know NOTwhat he did but I know it involved multiple trips to the hardware store because some plumbing things are 1/2 inch and some are 1/4 inch and do they do these things JUST TO MAKE US DIY’ERS CRAZY???? lol.

 

All I know is….. the water works. Thank you Jesus!

 

And the waterfall faucet we got is the bomb. You can find one HERE.

 

 

But we ran into an interesting issue when we tried to set the vanity. The vanity will not sit right up next to the wall because of the baseboard in our bathroom. Fiddle faddle.

 

 

 

We considered taking off the baseboard, but instead, we altered the vanity.

 

 

 

 

We literally just cut the back legs off of the dresser.

 

 

 

 

And Mr Magic drilled it right into the wall!

 

 

 

 

I love the original handles on this piece so I spray painted them in this silver metallic.

 

 

 

 

The silver was a little too metallic for me, so I used Black Rub and Buff over the silver and then they were perfect!

 

 

 

 

See the difference? 

 

 And here is the big reveal!

 

 

 

 From this angle you can see how the back legs are gone, but yet it’s perfect!

 

 

 

 And just for fun I want to show you the Hobby Lobby basket that’s on my floor in my bathroom with my favorite sign!

 Isn’t this a major change from the pedestal sink to the dresser vanity? I love it!
