It all started with this paper mache deer head that I literally found in Hobby Lobby this fall. As soon as I saw him, I knew he was destined to be glittered!

And glitter him I did!!!! I have this post showing you the super easy and secret glittering process I use!!!! So easy and so fun! He totally MAKES my Christmas mantel in my opinion!

I had this old garden gate already on my mantel. I just dry brushed it with some white paint like in this video and it literally just leans on the mantel.

Mr Magic put a eye-hook on the back of the deer head. So it’s literally hooked around a nail. And I purchased this amazing wreath from Hobby Lobby to go around the deer. I love that the ribbon on the wreath matches the buffalo check dining room that I just finished for Hobby Lobby as well! The wreath was the most expensive of my purchases but with their sale…. $60 and totally worth it. Good wreaths are money well spent…. they will last you many, many, MANY Christmas’s!!!

Ignore most of the decor in this pic because it didn’t make the final fireplace cut. But I wanted to show you this. I have an issue with our fireplace. I would realllllllllllllllly like to talk to the 80’s builder about it.

  1. it is soooooooooooo shallow. Like we have 5 inches to decorate on. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE LIKE ME WHO LIKE BIG AND GAUDY DECOR???And
  2. there is no power on top of the mantel so it’s hard to run any lit garland. And even if there was, there is no room for garland.

So this year we tried something different. I had Mr Magic literally staple the garland to the underside of the mantel.

We are calling that perfect. Stapling and duct taping and crossing fingers in your decor is totally acceptable!

I purchased several strand of beads to hang under the mantel as well.

The red beads help to break up all the white tile on the fireplace.  They are super cheap and super cheery!!!!

And I spruced up a cheap garage sale find with some red berry picks from Hobby Lobby.

I am convinced that red berry picks like this make all projects look festive!!!

This is one of my favorite things on the fireplace project. I bought that gold sign at Hobby Lobby not even sure what to use it for? But a stocking holder and a chalkboard seemed perfect!

I have a collection on old sleds so I used one on the other side of the hearth and just nailed a greenery piece to the front of it.

Again, the buffalo check. I am semi-obsessed and may need a support group. Anyone with me?

And there it all is. I love it so much!
