Remember the radio cabinet I scored at Goodwill for $9.99? What a great piece…..
It’s roomy…..
And it made a good break dancing table while it lasted…. ha!
And now it’s TEAL!!!!!!!
With a Van Dyke brown glaze.
I absolutely luuuuuuuuuuv this piece.
And I worked on it for-EVER!
But all good paint projects have to come to an end.
It’s going on my garage sale this weekend…. and being listed on Craigslist.
I hope someone loves it as much as I do.
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh i’m in loooove!!! I’d say good luck at the garage sale and craigslist but you don’t need it!
Okay…how much?
This is so great. Oh how I wish I lived near. Your garage sales must be an “event” in you area!! It’s beautiful!
I would love to try something like this on my own. Where do you buy the glazes?
it turned out AMAZING!! you have clearly got an eye for good design and GREAT COLOR. 🙂
Absolutely STUNNING!!! The lucky person who ends up with it is going to be madly in love!
Oh how I wish I lived near you!! I’m curious to see what you’re going to do with that buffet in the 9th picture. (Yes, I love it so much I counted the pictures so that I was accurate in my rave!) :0)
Do you have any pieces for sale right now?
[email protected]
SO Cute!! I love it!
wow- it looks great! i know how hard it is to photograph that color, but one can tell wven with the flash that this is a gorgeous piece! the glazing make a huge difference- awesome work as usual, jennifer!
oh goodness, where do you live!? that would go perfect in our house! i wish I could buy it fro you!
That looks terrific… I bought a radio cabinet myself at a thrift store not long ago, so this gives me great inspiration for mine!
It’s gorgeous, I can’t wait to hear how fast you sold it and for how much!
Annie – bless your heart for counting my pictures!!!!! That unpainted buffet is going to be apple green as long as my teal piece sells. If the teal sits, then I’m afraid I will be scared and go neutral with cream.
How can tou part with this piece? It is spectacular, I love it, and wished it was in my home!
I love the color! Can you tell me what color it is and what sheen? I am redoing my 9 year olds room and we love this color! Thanks!
Very edgy. I’m just wondering though. I’m thinking you do these pieces for resale and I seem to have trouble selling the blues/greens. I was wondering how you do with them. Apparently better than I do. I did a chest for our sale and I ended up bringing it back home with me. Grrrrrrrrr. It seems like everyone loved but said it wouldn’t work in their home. Just wondering how it’s working for you.

Jennifer, I love it! I want to do a the legs for a kitchen table in that color. Will you share what color you used?
Thats so funny that you posted the radio cabinet today because i was just emailing about one i might buy. Yours turned out gorgeous! I love the teal. Did you dry brush it with a glaze?? I’m sure it will be sold by the end of the day… just beautiful. Love your work.
It’s Sherwin Williams Aruba Blue with a black glaze over it!!!! So glad you all like it!
Pamela, I have only done one other turquoise/blue piece and it has sold. Whether or not I do more in this color depends on how quick it sells! I hope its a winner!
so beautiful!!!!!
Girl, you have always got it goin’ on! I’m telling ya! Fabulous!
Very fun piece Jennifer. I blogged about you today. Here’s the link. http://decrenew.blogspot.com/2010/05/hardware-jewelry-for-your-furniture.html

I like the teal.
I have been wanting a record cabinet like that. Not sure where it would go. Good score!
The color totally rocks! I just switched to teal and brown in my bedroom, I’m so in love with this color! Your work is wonderful, it is always fun to see what you are up to!
That color certainly gives the piece a great deal of presence. Jane F

That is an amazing piece! I love the color that you got using the glaze! I really need to learn how to glaze things:)
So beautiful!! I don’t know why the thrift stores in my area don’t have fantastic deals like that. At the DI, that would be like 80.00… no joke!
WOW, that looks great! Would have never thought to look twice at that piece.
I love this! I just painted a table a today a color of blue and trying to decide what to put on top of it. Is the black glaze something you made or did it come that way? Did you just brush on and wipe off? Did you sell it? Beautiful!!!
I WANT IT!!!
Do u deliver to France? 😉
Such a clever and creative girl. My heart is going pitty pat.
I see you used SW Aruba Blue, what type paint ( semi, flat etc.) and what type glaze? I have a piece that i have been wanting to finish in this color just been scared to try and pick the right color. Thanks for your help!!
Holy Toledo…that is gorgeous!!!! Very Inspiring. I am a sewer, but you girls are getting me more inspired to start re-doing furniture!!!!

That came out wonderful. I would never have thought of the color.
I know what you mean about the flash and color. My knitting never looks right.
Beautiful! I love that teal too! 🙂
Bright or not, it is GORGEOUS! I love every inch of it. Great job, as usual. 🙂

Jennifer, I absolutely love this piece. It was a bit hard to focus on the piece at first with two darling kiddos posing — they are a true delight. Back to the piece — excellent. Love the bold choice in color. You are a talent!
I adore this more than words can express! Wonderful!
WOW! that is cool I love that piece also and why does the flash always kill cool colors? I have been seeing old console stereo’s the size of the one you did and have been tempted to make a table out of one and now I know what it would look like.
I wish I lived near you too! Beautiful stuff I’m finding on your blog and plenty of inspiration to give me the guts to try this myself.
One more comment, I went to sherwin-williams web site and they dont have any colors called ARUBA BLUE, but googled the word ARUBA BLUE + PAINT COLOR and benjamin moore makes a color called ARUBA BLUE # 2048-30 and is a deep teal maybe you had a paint chip from B.MOORE and had S.williams mix it…any ways super cool color and I’m going to pick up a quart
Your blue furniture is gorgeous!
I was wondering what is a black glaze and where can I purchase it?
do you paint over the wood with out stripping it?
Beautiful beautiful beautiful! Did you use primer before the teal paint and black glaze?
Beautiful beautiful beautiful! Did you use primer before the teal paint and brown glaze?
Just found your blog and I think I’ve had a religious epiphany. LOL, but seriously, this is great stuff!
