Like everyone else in America, I love Chip and Joanna Gaines….. the Fixer Upper phenoms. Designer extraordinaires. Eater of bugs (did you see that episode??). And maker of all homes pretty. The whole wide world is in love with them. And having met them on 3 occasions now, I can assure you they are just as adorable in person as you think they are. I pinkie swear.
I spoke at the Greater Kansas City Home Show last March and Chip and Joanna were the featured speakers! I think all of Kansas City tried to get into Bartle Hall to see them! And you can tell by my cheesy grin that I was just as excited as everyone else was! Their segment at the show was just like you think it would be…. warm, funny, down to earth, humble. Don’t we all just want to be like Chip and Jo when we grow up???
For all of you KC locals (or those of you who love a good road trip….), THEY ARE BACK AGAIN THIS YEAR!!!!! I’m hoping JoJo and I can coordinate our side ponytails once again! I mean, we almost look like sister, don’t you think? Lol.
And look who else is going to be speaking at the Home Show!!! My kids are freaking out. The Treehouse Guy, Pete Nelson from the Animal Planet will be there as well. And to my kids, no we are not building a treehouse anytime soon. But I cannot wait to meet Pete!
I will be speaking also and talking about things you can paint in your home that you wouldn’t normally consider….. Fabric. Tile. Lights. Etc. Last year there were 1 or 2 you there (see me up on stage. Big hair. Hard to miss), so come early and I’d love to say hello!
